Replacement Windows

Replacing a Victorian or Tudor style window.

Leaded windows are normally ‘Victorian’ or ‘Tudor’ in style, incorporating diamond, rectangular or square patterns formed by intersections of lead strips. If you wish to make a replacement of leaded windows, lead strips can be applied manually to the outside of the glass but the most attractive and practical option is to purchase windows with the lead strips already sealed within the double glazed unit. In this case self cleaning glass can be used of the window replacement, as the special coating is positioned on the exterior facing pane.

If leading directly on to the external self-cleaning face, seek advice from your glass supplier to check the compatibility of the lead adhesive with the coating. In a replacement leaded window double glazing can also be combined with Low E and solar protection properties.
